Another really spectacular day today! Offshore we had every available boat out fishing. Yellowfin Tuna continued to dominate the catches with almost every boat catching their limit. Dolphin were caught in good numbers too. The Yellowfin Tuna bite is about as good as it could possibly be right now. I heard of a few boats that had multiple hook ups within minutes of dropping the outriggers! Really exciting for everyone who has had the opportunity to get their lines wet out there. They would most likely be limiting out on Dolphin too. But the boxes are getting filled with Tuna instead. One boat in particular did try and target Marlin specifically after getting almost a limit of Tuna. They didn’t have any hook ups but did see one Blue come into the spread.
The Nearshore fleet really did outstanding today too. Today was the first day that they were really able to sight fish effectively for Cobia since Andrea came through. I spoke with several of the Captains and they all reported seeing Cobia everywhere with limits being caught. I filed over a dozen Citations for trophy size Cobia. The largest in the 90 pound class. They also did really well on Spanish Mackerel too.
