Well another day without much to report! Although I’m sure it was a wonderful early Mother’s day gift to have so many Captains and Anglers spending their down time with loved ones and catching up on some much needed chore work. I’m imagining that the novelty of that has well worn off. It’s high time that this bad weather moved on so everyone can capitalize on the Springtimes outstanding fishing. Many of the largest fish, of many offshore and inshore species, are the first to make their presence known during their northward migration. It looks like Wednesday is going to be an outstanding day to get out and if the foreast holds up the rest of the week looks very promising! Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum have begun to show up in really good numbers in the sound and most likely in the surf (We won’t know about the surf until it becomes fishable!). But with the water temps being what they are the large schools showing up in the sound usually are the precurser to inshore fishing turning on.
