Eleven boats went offshore today and began coming in as early as 11:30 with their boxes filled to the brim with yellowfin tuna; another day with well over 1,000 lbs. of yellowfin catch. A few of our vessels also encountered and snagged some bigeye tuna. Four nearshore captains took their clients out on the water, as well. They came back with varied reports of cobia, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, stripers, gray trout, and speckled trout! Congratulations to Drake McLaughlin for his 40 lb. citation cobia and to Benny Hardison for his 62 lb. citation cobia! Winds were out of the northeast at 10 to 15 knots with seas 4 to 6 ft and diminished to 3 to 5 ft later in the afternoon.
