It was a HOT one day, with temperatures close to 92 degrees! As temperatures rose so did the billfish action. Offshore boats reported releasing white marlin,blue marlin, sailfish and put some tuna, dolphin and even a wahoo in their boxes. Limits of tilefish were also caught and will make for a tasty fish fry. Nearshore full days lead to limits of dolphin, limits of tilefish and a few seabass. One of the tilefish caught was a citation size golden line tile at 11 pounds. On half day trips reports consisted of bluefish and spanish mackerel! Events for the Alice Kelly & 33rd Annual Pirates Cove Billfish tournament begin tomorrow. The week gets started with registration for the Alice Kelly Tournament tomorrow night at the Pavilion. Fishing will be the following day, Sunday, and is an all ladies billfish tournament. After the girls have their turn, registration for the Billfish tournament begins Monday and fishing days are Tuesday through Friday. The marina is full of boats and activity!!!
