Wow what an awesome day for the offshore fleet. All the captains I spoke with said there was Marlin everywhere they looked today. Marlin are apex predators and hookups can often be difficult as they attempt to trip up, what they percieve as real food, before they swallow it. There were litterly 100’s of bites today and out of the 5 boats we had fishing offshore they caught and released 62 billfish. Only five of which were sails. Even a nearshore boat caught and released two whites today while fishing on a all day trip!
Today was also the island trifecta of famous peoples birthdays. In the picture is the famous Kirk Laird, Pirate’s cove owner Jim Tobin, and the youngest of our dock crew Trey Robinson. There was apparently some confusion on how to operate the birthday horns by at least one of them!
