The Tournament is in full swing and today was very exciting with almost as many billfish caught today as in the last two days. The Marlin fishing is outstanding right now with multiple hook ups on every boat that fished today, regardless if it was a charter or tournament boat. There was some really nice Dolphin caught today including a 38 pound fish and a handful of really nice Yellowfin Tuna. The marina looked like a blue wave of white marlin flags dotted with some Blue Marlin and Sailfish flags mixed in. The Tuna fishing has definately stalled somewhat, for the time being, but there are still some being caught mixed in with some wahoo and good dolphin catches. Without a doubt this is the premier destination for Mother natures premier game fish right now. An angler crosses a threshold of skill when he or she can say they’ve caught a fish larger than themselves.
The nearshore fleet mixed it up this morning and caught good numbers of bottomfish including Sea Mullet, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, and bluefish. Inside the Inlet the Trout fishing is still outstanding with the Inlet trips still really impressive.
