Today was the first day of fishing for the 33rd Annual Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament. A total of 72 boats have registered and of those, 61 fished today. About 181 billfish were released between the 61 boats fishing. About half of our offshore fleet is fishing the tournament and we are happy to say they helped contribute to those numbers!!!! For those fishing the tournament reports offshore consisted of good numbers of White Marlin and Sailfish. Other reports also consisted of White Marlin, great Sailfish action, limits of Dolphin, and limits of Tilefish!!!
Nearshore fishing was nothing short of exceptional today! Citations were filled out multiple times for impressive Red Drum that were between 41” and 51.” Both Spanish Mackerel and King Mackerel were filled boxes today as well Bluefish and made for satisfied customers!!!
