Well we are on day 3 of the blow. The winds shifted a little more to the north with gusts up to 25 today. It looks like more of the same tomorrow with the exact same forecast scheduled. However, the winds are forecasted to drop dramatically tommorrow evening. The rest of the week high pressure is supposed to settle in shaping up for a beautiful week. We’re all really excited to see what the coming week will hold. No one fished out of the marina today including the nearshore fleet. If you read yesterday’s report you’re probably aware of the fact that there was at least one nearshore captain that was pretty disappointed not to fish today. Despite that they should all have an incredible time this coming week. The only problem will be what to fish for given all the options right now.
This fishing year started with some of the best speckled trout fishing I can remember. It would appear that it’s going to end with some outstanding red drum fishing, to put some icing on the cake. Everyone I’ve spoken with is reporting good catches of puppy drum and quite a few trophy sized fish that had to be released. Between the nearshore and offshore fishing we have so much to look forward to!
