The offshore fleet had quite a bit to talk about today. The Billfish bite continues to be outstanding with 12 billfish releases today that included Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Sailfish. The Dolphin catches were outstanding today too with the majority of the offshore fleet catching their limit or close to it. A few Wahoo were mixed in the catches today with one just over the 60 pound mark. The Billfish bite has been outstanding the last few days and it’s just in time for our big tournament this week.
The nearshore fleet had an outstanding morning with good catches of mackerel and blues. Then the excitement of the morning was huge schools of sharks right on the color change in the beautiful clear ocean water. Most were Blacktips with some white dotter and sands mixed in. White Dotter and Blacktips are delecious table fare and Blacktips in particular put up an amazing fight jumping out of the water up to 3 times their body length at times. Tomorrow promises to have some more great catches for those guys.
The Speckled Trout fishing has slowed slightly over the last few days but is still really good with great catches on every trip.
