It’s been quite a fall pattern setting up over the past month or so. Like clockwork the week starts with a hard blow and finishes with summer like weather. This week was no different and we’ve had a hard Ne wind blowing all week. It looks like tommorrow the conditions are improving as the day progresses and we’ve got quite a few headed out to fish tomorrow. There should be some good tuna and dolphin catches tomorrow for the offshore guys and our fish cleaners will be happy to get back to work! I was awoke early this morning to really loud thunder and driving rain. I was never able to get back to sleep so I’m looking forward to catching some zzz’s tonight so I can be ready for tomorrow’s marina excitement.
Without a whole lot to discuss here at the marina I thought it would be worth mentioning on how good the sound fishing has been outstanding. Out of shear frustration I’ve been spending the last few nights fishing and man the fishing couldn’t be better. Me and another marina employee caught over 20 rockfish and puppy drum up to 22" in under an hour the other night. The sound is slam full of drum right now and they’re all sporting those pretty blue tails they get from eating too many shrimp. I even saw someone catch a 30" drum in their casting net here in the marina on sunday while trying to catch bait. I haven’t seen any stunted fish and all the fish look really healthy with fat belly’s. Moral is with so much attention given to the world class offshore fishery we have here, it can be easy to forget how great the fishing is inshore. Even if your a avid saltwater fisherman you can learn as much in one trip with one of our professional guides/captains as you would fishing by yourself for years. Plus they have the additional benefit of fishing here almost daily and when your only here for a week you want to make the most of it.
We still have some charters available for the upcomming weekend for both offshore and nearshore. Call us at 1-800-367-4728 or visit us at staging.pcdev.flywheelsites.com and we will take care of the rest! Take care and have a great evening!
