This has to be one of the hottest days of the year so far! 6 offshore boats, 4 nearshore boats, and our inlet boat went out to get some action today. The nearshore captains are reporting sights of large schools of cobia off the beach—one of our captains said he saw a thick school of about 20 on his first trip this morning. When he went back later in the afternoon, the school had thinned out a bit and they were able to pick off a few smaller cobias. The nearshore fleet also encountered awesome Spanish mackerel fishing; as they were trolling, bites were one after the other. The offshore fleet came in with large amounts of yellowfin tuna and a few decently-sized dolphin. The clients on the Obsession caught 600 lbs. of tuna and dolphin and released a White Marlin!
