Today the wind was howling sw at 20 kts.  After yesterday’s outstanding fishing expectations were really high for today.  However, we had very few boats venture offshore with many rescheduling for later in the week.  The boats that did go out had a fair day with some Yellowfin Tuna and a few Dolphin caught.  One boat did bring in 5 Tuna by 2 pm that weighed a combined 320 pounds.  For most boats the conditions were very rough and difficult. One Blue Marlin, in the 350 range, was caught and released.  This is the time of the year when things can be slow one day then explosive the next.  Forage species, like flying fish, are constantly on the move making Captains have to adapt daily.  Weve had a pretty hard southward wind for a few days breaking up grasslines too.  Starting tomorrow the wind will make a move in the positive and things should heat up leading to some great catches later in the week.

The inshore fleet had a fair day too with some Spanish Mackerel caught and a few blues.  The Nearshore Captains are masters of adaptation and were still able to put their anglers on some Flounder and Sea Mullet after trying to fish out in the chop.

The bright spot for the day was definately the inshore trip that limited out on really nice Speckled Trout once again.  We’ve all experienced the outstanding Trout fishing this year but it is impressive how our Inshore guide puts Anglers on limits on almost every trip.

This week is shaping up to be a beautiful one for the last half.  We should see some really outstanding Dolphin catches in particular.  We have some charters available and some make ups call us at 1-800-367-4728 or visit us staging.pcdev.flywheelsites.com to book your trip.
